My visit to Istanbul,Turkey; Oct., 2008

Amanda, one of the teachers from school, and I took a trip to Istanbul for five days. It used to be called Constantinople, and spans two continents, with half of the city on one side of the Bosphorus and one part on the other. We had such a good time. We met some wonderful new people and visited Europe and Asia in the same day! The city is so modern at one end of the spectrum and so historical at the other. The New Mosque is ONLY 400 years old, for heaven's sake! I guess it is, though, compared to the Roman aqueducts nearby.
