Emily arrived at the Dubai Airport shortly after midnight on Saturday. Instead of flowers, I presented her with a stuffed camel in a Santa hat! We talked until 4:30 and slept until noon, followed by sun-bathing and lunch at the pool. Then we decided to do some shopping in Dubai--modern and ancient--a mall and a souq. The souq was more fun! We bargained for all sorts of doo-dads for gifts and to decorate our tree.
Em wants to ski at Ski Dubai and golf, and go to the aquariums, and see camels, and camp in the desert, and............ I'm sure we will get to do a lot of wonderful things!
On the way home tonight we saw about 25 camels on side of the road and two burros on the other. A photo op extraordinaire!
I'll add a link later to the photos that Em took, because I just tried to add the specific photos and got one that wasn't even close!!!!!!!!! I'm going to need help!
Good night,
Lori

Hi Lori, this is Sue Newcom. JoEllen Hartley gave me a copy of your letter home at the holidays and I looked you up. You look great and sounds like you are having a wonderful time in the UAE. Met Pam Audet (sp?) at the Arts Center. She was going to bring me over her 100 hrs/hundred dollars scarf that you knitted her. We must have missed each other. Sounds like you are having a fascinating time. I have a blog on blogspot also...socially sketching with susan. It is freezing here and for the first time that I can remember schools were closed because of the weather. Tomorrow we are suppose to have snow. Are you still knitting up a storm? Take care, Sue
